There is also an Update option which allows you to update your Techsignal™ program to the latest build
number.    Included on your Techsignal™ CD and on your computer after you install the program, is an
article which reviews the details of how to update the Techsignal™ program, entitled “Updating to the Latest
Techsignal™ Build.”  This article is found in your Techsignal™ folder at C:\FSCTS along with other articles
about the operations of the program.
The Exit choice allows you to immediately close all Techsignal™ windows and quit the Techsignal™
program. The Help command gives you access to the help files and the About command which tells you
about your environment (System Info button) and the build number or Techsignal™ version that you are
running.
Icons on the Screens
The program icons allow you to perform a variety of analyses on the cycles Techsignal™ finds in your data.
Passing your mouse over each icon provides a description of each icon’s function.  Further information
about these technical operations can be found through the Help command in your starting Techsignal™
window.
Right Clicks
Right clicks on the graphical screen access a number of customizable functions relating to the appearance
of the window, the graph and to other operations.  You should examine this drop down dialog box and these
choices.
Double Left Clicks on the Grid
There are two Grids (open areas on the screen) that require double mouse clicks for performing functions.
All other areas require only one click. These two grids are Portfolios Available grids on the Main Menu Data
Input screen and the Build Portfolio screen. Doubling clicking each of these areas simply opens up the
portfolio contents in a grid below.
Exit Commands
There are three ways to exit the program:  1)  the small “x” on the upper right corner of the Windows blue
title bar; 2)  the Exit Command from the File choice (upper left corner) in the Main Menu Data Input screen;
and 3) the Quit icon on the icon bar near the top of the Main Data Input Screen.
Keyboard Commands and Scroll bars
Techsignal™ uses several keyboard commands, the four arrow keys, scroll bars on active windows, and the
F1 key for help.
Arrow keys
The right and left arrow keys allow you to move the price plot and all studies to the right or left on the
screen, changing the time period seen on the screen.  The up and down arrow keys let you move up and
down in individual columns of the data grid below the price plot, while the right and left arrow keys let you
move about within individual cells of the data grid.
Scroll Bars on Active Windows
Scroll bars allow you to see additional screen data, brining into view items that are not able to be seen in the
active window. These are standard windows scroll bars.
Individual Keyboard Keystrokes
Several keyboard keys perform functions on the price plot screen and open customization dialog boxes:  S
= shadows price bars (toggles), M = maximize screen (esc key to return), C = color customization dialog
box, D = data export parameters, F = font customization dialog box, P = print dialog, Q = same as right click
dialog box, X = export dialog box
1.5 Data Input Screen
The first screen is the Data Input Screen. This is where you chose your data. Set up the defaults you wish to
use and build portfolios. You can load data through the Windows menu and the Portfolio system. The main
method is the portfolio system. The program will begin with some sample data supplied with the program.
